Can I use body moisturizer on a dogs foot pad?
My dogs feet are really rough and I can’t go to the store to get specialized foot pad cream. Is it safe to put Human moisturizer on his feet? He’s not gonna lick it or anything I just want to know if it will work.
Dogs pads are meant to be rough…it is like the callused skin on the bottom of our feet. If our skin was so very soft it would hurt to walk. That is why they must have rough pads. If for some reasons your dogs pads are rougher than normal, torn, bleeding or any other abnormal situation, you should NOT use human moisturizer…you should clean gently at night and apply something like Bag Balm or Udderly Smooth. Those are actually formulated for use on cows bags so they dont feel irritated or chapped. They are safe if the dog licks it.
